Joseph Farzam has a remarkable life story. When he was only 14 years old, he fled the daily bombings and missile attacks of the then war-torn Iran and escaped through the borders to Pakistan, leaving his family behind. After a few months, he and the other refugees he was living amongst flew to Vienna, Austria. After about a year, he was granted refugee asylum and permitted to enter the United States.  Mr. Farzam attended Santa Monica high school and worked at McDonalds to support himself.  Although he worked 2 or 3 jobs to support himself, he valued education greatly and managed to obtain a bachelors degree from California State University, Northridge and attended the prestigious Pepperdine University, School of Law. He graduated with high marks and passed the California bar exam on the first try.  Early in his practice, Mr. Farzam became a certified and registered patent attorney helping inventors prosecute their patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  
Having been a victim of war and discrimination and having been brought up with modest means, Mr. Farzam’s heart was always with the victims.  Accordingly, over 15 years ago, in 2002, Mr. Farzam founded Joseph Farzam Law Firm as a law firm that would represent victims against insurance companies and the big corporations.  For Mr. Farzam, no case was too big, no area of law too challenging and no adversary too formidable.   He successfully took on many corporate giants and litigated ferociously and aggressively and obtained many millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts.  Mr. Farzam conducted more than 20 jury trials to a impressive verdicts. He successfully litigated against big companies such as Apple, Macy’s, Starbucks, Air France, Carnival Cruises, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Ralph’s, Federal Express and celebrities such as Pamela Anderson and Keanu Reeves.  He has litigated before state and federal courts. He has argued in front of the California Courts of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit. About – Nazo Koulloukian, Esq.

Prior to joining Joseph Farzam Law Firm, Nazo Koulloukian was an employment and labor defense attorney for a Southern California civil litigation firm specializing in employment and personal injury defense. Mr. Koulloukian represented and counseled employers across a broad range of industries including retail stores, hospitals, school districts, security companies, health and fitness clubs, restaurants, medical facilities, government entities, and manufacturers.


Mr. Koulloukian’s labor and employment practice has included defending employers against single-plaintiff disputes involving wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, negligence, and intentional tort claims, as well as class action wage/hour, reimbursement, and seating claims, and union grievances.  He has provided management-side advice with respect to current employment practices, assisted employers in formulating various employment policies, and counseled employers on all areas of employment law, including human resource policies, wage and hour compliance and litigation avoidance.  Additionally, Mr. Koulloukian has reviewed, revised, and created employee handbooks, drafted arbitration agreements and severance agreements, and helped implement various other policies to ensure compliance with California’s ever-expanding employment laws.

Mr. Koulloukian has also gained experience in the areas of personal injury defense, products liability, premises liability, and governmental entity defense. He has successfully tried numerous cases, serving as “second chair” defense counsel.

He has appeared in both state and federal trial courts, and his experience includes representation through trial.  Mr. Koulloukian has successfully brought and defended motions for summary judgment, obtained dismissals, and favorably resolved high-exposure, multi-million dollar cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims. Mr. Koulloukian has also represented employers in matters before the Labor Commissioner, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

Nazo L. Koulloukian graduated magna cum laude from UCLA in 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies, where he served as the graduation commencement speaker. Thereafter, he attended law school and graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2008, where he participated in the Maryland Law Fall Moot Court Competition and was involved in the Civil Rights Clinic, where he submitted an amicus brief with the Maryland Court of Appeals. Among other things, Mr. Koulloukian was actively involved with the Maryland Law Katrina Project where law students donated their valuable vacation time to the rebuilding efforts of various Gulf Coast towns affected by Hurricane Katrina. Mr. Koulloukian has also served as an extern for the Honorable Judge Philip S. Gutierrez of the US District Court, Central District of California in 2007. He joined the California State Bar in 2009.

In addition to being licensed to practice in all California State courts, Mr. Koulloukian is also licensed to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He is proficient in Armenian and has working knowledge in Turkish and Spanish. Mr. Koulloukian is also a member of the faculty for the UCLA Department of Communication Studies where he teaches “Propaganda and the Media,” a spring undergraduate course where students examine the ideological nature of propaganda, the corporate structure of the media, and how propaganda is disseminated to control the media environment.

Mr. Salehi completed his J.D. at Pepperdine University and, shortly after graduating, passed the California Bar exam. He began practicing business and entertainment litigation with the Los Angeles firm of Fredricks & Von der Horst where he won several large and complex cases.

Mr. Salehi founded his own practice, Salehi & Associates in 2003, focusing on high-end plaintiff-oriented litigation, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, toxic tort, and as well as complex entertainment and business law cases. Since the firm began, Mr. Salehi has obtained millions of dollars for his clients.

Since he began his professional career, Mr. Salehi has been an active member of his professional and civic community. Since 1999, Mr. Salehi has been a well-respected and distinguished member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, and American Trial Lawyers Association. Since 2002, he has been an active volunteer, generous contributor, and avid activist for the Free Arts for Abused Children program based in Los Angeles.
